Special formulations for food contact applications

Protaral® coatings have been formulated to protect the packaging as well as the foodstuffs and consumers.

For this reason, in addition to complying with international food contact regulations (FDA 175.300, D.M. 21 May 1973 and BgA XL regulation on Food Contact) Protaral® lacquers are continually submitted to stringent essential tests to certify their safety.

An important characteristic of the special formulations for the food industry is very good resistance to acidity which makes Protaral® interior coatings suitable for tomato sauce and other strongly acidic foods.
